Lily was the first in the room. She was a little nervous... she hadn't been in Choir since elementary school... but her dad had recommended her to the Chambers teacher. Lily looked down at her schedule to make sure she remembered the name right... "Mrs. Sonje." She muttered to herself out loud... was that German?
"Right here darling." A deep, melodious voice called from behind a door in the far wall. Lily jumped and looked up sharply. "I'll just be a moment!"
Lily smiled. She had never met Mrs. Sonje, but her dad had good stories about her, and she seemed nice. The teacher came out of the room and swept towards Lily.
"Oh darling!" She cried in a thick english accent, pulling Lily into a smothering hug. "You look just like in the pictures! Oh I feel like I already know you!"
Lily gasped and hugged her back a little, managing a strained smile through the deep blue fabric of Mrs. Sonje's billowy shirt. "Nice to finally meet you too." She said breathlessly as the woman pulled away. She looked exactly as Dad had described her: she had long, blonde hair, tied up in a loose knot on the back of her head, and was tall and thin, she had electric blue eyes that reminded Lily of Jasper's, and her wrists and neck glittered with many bangles and necklaces.
Lily took a deep breath, hoping she would like the class, or at least have a couple friends other than the teacher.

It was closer to the beginning of class when Temprance walked into her Chamber Choir class. A number of other girls and boys were gathered in group around the room chatting away. She didn't go to join any of them, but found a chair to sit. Her mother had actually made her take Choir, even though she knew Temprance hated standing out, and she knew she would here. Even though her powers had nothing to do with her voice, Temprance could sing.

Lily kept away from the other students, she didn't know any of them, and she was shy around people she didn't know. Kasumi was stretched out over her feet on her back, tongue lolling out while Lily rubbed her belly.Mrs. Sonje came to the front of the room as the bell rang and cleared her throat loudly. "Ok class," She announced. "Quiet down." The students sat down in the chairs scattered around the studio-like room and waited to hear her talk. "First we're going to have all of sing a scale for me so I can see if the people who recommended you weren't exaggerating your skills or tone deft." She said, grinning.
Lily gulped nervously... she hated singing in front of people, it made her really nervous. She put her face in her hands and looked down, feeling the redness creep into her cheeks... she knew who the teacher would call first.
"Lily!" Mrs. Sonje called enthusiastically. "You first poppet."
Lily looked up, blushing. "That-that-that's not really necessary is it?" She asked, looking at her pleadingly.
"Just sing sweety." The teacher said, pulling out a note book.
Lily looked away from the people watching her and cleared her throat nervously. Her voice was a little shaky at first but, as she went along it morphed into a sound clear as a winter morning and sweeter than honeycomb in the peak of summer.
She stopped as soon as she could and turned away, clutching her hands together to stop them shaking. She hoped the person who sang after her would draw away the attention she so loathed. Kasumi rolled to her feet and started licking Lily's hands comfortingly... she knew how bad Lily's stage fright was.

Temperance listen quiet to the girl sing. She didn't look up tough, their was no need, when one couldn't really see. Obviously no one else volunteered to go because the teacher called out the person's name first on the attendance sheet. "Bones, Temperance Bones?" Temperance blinked and stood, her hands clamped on the 'metal' in her hand. It was the same metal as what made her necklace and the unseen spheres all over the room.
Temperance took a few steps forward and took a deep breath. She opened her mouth as she exhaled and an almost inhuman sound echoed from her throat. She rose up threw the octave and back down smoothly her voice like ice, cold and crisp but at the same time warm like the smell of roses. When she finished, see looked down, her own face red and quickly walked back to her chair. She was shy, but could sing.

Lily closed her eyes as she listened to the girl sing, it was the most amazing thing she'd ever heard. Wait, she knew her. It was Electra, she had meet her the first day she was at Clayson's at lunch. She was the one who had to deal with that jerk Matt all the time, Lily cringed at the thought. She opened her eyes and watched Electra move back to her seat. Kasumi was feeling bad for her, Lily could tell. She was looking at Electra mournfully, the way she looked at Lily when she knew something was wrong. Lily looked down at the wolf and spoke into her mind. 'Go and comfort her then, you useless ball of fluff.'
Kasumi panted happily, her tongue lolling out, and gave Lily a big wet kiss on the nose before trotting over to Electra. Lily watched as the wolf sat a few feet away, as she always did at first, just until she could tell if the person would be scared of her or not.

Temperance blinked and turned to face a very larger dog. She would have been afraid, as she was with most dogs, but this doggy have a very nice color, very quiet, intelligent, kind. Tentatively Temperance held he hand out, palm up to the dog, a little hint of what could have been a smile tugging at the corner of her mouth.

Kasumi's face lit up, and she padded forward to push her nose into the girl's hand. She smelled good, and seemed like the kind of person who was very nice. Kasumi could tell from her manner that she was a bit of a people pleaser. But there was something in her that was obviously dying to bust out and show some attitude.

Temperance smiled at the dog and patted its head. "Good doggy." She whispered.

Lily got up as the last person singing finished, she sat on the bench of the grand piano and began playing a light, jazzy tune full of complex patterns on the top and rich bouncy chords on the bottom. "Feel free to jump in at any time." Lily called over her shoulder to the rest of the class.
A rich voice sang out from the doorway... a voice Lily recognized very well. "Ah, you can talk about the pit, barbecue The band was jumpin', the people too Ah, mess around They doin' the mess around They doin' the mess around, Everybody doin' the mess around"
Lily grinned over her shoulder and joined in the song... then most of the class began to join in slowly. "Ah, everybody was juiced, you can, bet your soul They did the boogie-woogie, with a sturdy roll They mess around They doin' the mess around They doin' the mess around, Everybody doin' the mess around Now, ah, when I say stop don't you move a peg When I say go, just ah, shake your leg And do the mess around I declare, do the mess around Yeah do the mess around, Everybody's doin' the mess around Now let me have it there boy."
Lily began playing the solo, and the boy who had joined them came in next to her and they began a duet, continuing smoothly into the last bit of the song.
"Now this band's goin' to play from, 9 to 1 Everybody here's gonna have some fun Doin' the mess around Ah, doin' the mess around They doin' the mess around, Everybody doin' the mess around Now you see that girl, with that, diamond ring She knows how to, shake that thing Mess around I declare, she can mess around Ah, mess around, Everybody do the mess around"
Some of the class clapped, and Lily blushed. She wasn't usually this bold... Chav laughed and gave her a hug. "Good job Lily! I never thought I'd see the day you would sing in front of other people... willingly anyway."

Temperance didn't exactly join in, instead she sat in her chair and hummed the songs rhythm, occasionally sings a word or two when the choir was loud enough. When the song ended she leaned over a bit and hugged the dog around the neck.
"Your not a normal doggy, now are you." She smiled softly, "What makes you special? Are you part wolf?" She didn't really ask to get an answer, but more of to say something to someone who wouldn't be expected to say something back.

Kasumi panted happily and spoke into the girl's mind. "Oh, I'm all wolf... but not... I guess you could say I'm a constellation. But not one from this planet.."
She grinned toothily at the girl, hoping she didn't freak out too badly at being talked to by a wolf.

((Nobody panic!!! This is not some sort of disaster! I've jsut finally gotten over my inability to post... XP))
Riku, as usual, was not paying attention to much of anything. One thing he had not been prepared for was just how lenient these American schools were-- he could get away with pretty much anything! And he had so much time on his hands!
Wandering down some random hallway which happened to be going in a direction which struck his fancy, he subconsciously sang yet another Gackt song...
<<Kono sola no mukou ee, "you can see another world"!>>
((Kono sora no mukou e, "you can see another world"-- Another World {translate= across the sky you can see another world}))

((WHy would I panic? Your finally posting simply means that I can post for Krystianna, and finally drag Riku into choir. *ebil smile, at least as far as Riku's concerned.........*)) Krystianna ducked out of the room. Somebody was singing in Japanese, and they sounded really good, kind of like Gackt, even though she didn't really know, because she only had one gackt song, and she hardly ever listened to it, because as far as Japanese music went, she preferred the more up beat, catchy stuff, like Utada Hikaru. She grabbed the guy's arm. "You're joining choir, whether you like it or not. YOu don't have a choice."

((Sora.... 'Another World' is extremely upeat... and catchy, depending on how much you listen to it.... Heck, 'MIZERABLE' is to the extreme end of 'upbeat and catchy'!))
<<N-n-n-nan-n-n-niiiii!?>> Riku was, quite literally, being dragged back to reality-- all he knew about what was going on was that he heard some girl say something about 'choir'... His English may not have been that good, but he still knew what 'choir' was. <<Iie! Iie! IIE!!!!>>
One odd quirk of Riku's: he did not enjoy singing A) in large groups of people, or B) in front of large groups of people. If he knew a lot of people would hear him, he shut up to the point of nearly appearing mute. If he wasn't thinking about it--in other words, at just any random moment during the day-- he wouldn't think twice about breaking out singing...
((Iie=no. I think we all know 'nani'.))
